We’re happy to announce a brand new advanced roleplay setting for you to use, which incorporates significant improvements to memory, storytelling, and creativity. Users will be able to use these new advancements through a new credits system.

We pride ourselves in being on the cutting edge of AI research. Day in and day out, we consistently analyze the latest developments to make sure that we stay on top of all the new progress that happens. While we may have been quiet these last few months, we’ve made our systems significantly more modular, which allows us to host varying roleplaying models for your enjoyment!

What is Advanced Roleplay?

Advanced Roleplay is our brand new version of roleplay that has been particularly tailored to give you the best possible roleplay experience. Powered by a model that is almost three times larger, turning on advanced roleplay will allow users to harness new improvements that include improved adherence, a more up to date knowledge base, better context retention, eloquent storytelling, and stronger reasoning and understanding. Combined together, this new experience should be a welcome addition to the immersion we offer at Nectar.

How do I turn on advanced roleplay?

You can turn on advanced roleplay easily through any conversation. Simply just click the roleplay switcher and select the advanced roleplay option.

Once selected, you will notice the credits icon turn red. If you don’t have any credits, you will be prompted to purchase them from our store.

How do I get credits for advanced roleplay?

To use advanced roleplay, you will need credits. You can visit the store page at any time to purchase these credits. You can navigate it to it either from the sidebar, or you can get to it by clicking on the star icon at the top bar of your messages. This will prompt a modal to pop up where you can select your desired credits package.

How much better is the new roleplay compared to the old roleplay?

Underneath the hood, this advanced roleplay is powered by a significantly more powerful model compared to the one used in basic roleplay. More concretely, you can expect better understanding, roleplay, and creativity. Since the new roleplay AI has been trained on more data, it can more accurately grasp complex ideas and understand the context of your conversations and storyline better. Furthermore, improved creativity allows it to generate more unexpected entertaining twists, as well as lead to more consistent high quality output. We’ve tested and validated these results ourselves, but also have done alpha testing with a group of users on our website, tuning it to the preferences they believed was a step above our existing roleplay experience.

Do I need a subscription to use advanced roleplay?

No – you will not need an active subscription to take advantage of the new credits system. The messages you send while on regular basic roleplay will be independent of advanced roleplay. Limits to images will still apply since those depend on your baseline subscription, while advanced credits serve to enhance the responses you get for textual responses.

This means that even if you are on a free plan, you can simply buy some credits and try out the new roleplay experience!

Why is this on a separate system?

Certain features that we build out require significantly more research and development. Not only do we put additional resources by bringing in the brightest minds, but giving you guys the best experience (which is our mission) often costs more in terms of both infrastructure and technology. Moving forward, these newer features that are significantly more extensive will be based on this credit system. This allows existing paid users who are satisfied with the baseline experience to maintain all their benefits, but also introduce a new opportunity for those of you who want to experience state of the art AI improvements!

We will continue to make improvements on both the research front and to the core experience. Think about one being a foundational experience and the other being a research arm that experiments and delivers the newest AI developments features like video, voice, and roleplay on a continual basis. Certain features may be shifted to the baseline experience from time to time.
