Nastia AI Review 2026: Three Reasons She Feels Distant

What You Need to Know
- What this is. This is a review of Nastia AI as a companionship platform, and we ran our own memory test on a free account. We also looked at three parts of the experience that may explain why a companion can start to feel different over time.
- Why trust us. Nectar AI is also an AI girlfriend platform, so we're not an outside observer pretending to have no connection to the category. We build these products ourselves and understand how features can affect the chat experience.
- Why it matters. When an AI companion suddenly feels colder, it's easy to assume the memory failed or that you did something wrong. Our test points to a few other things worth checking first.
- What to do. Test the memory before paying for anything.

She's been different lately
You may have noticed a change without knowing exactly what caused it. The companion still responds, but the answers feel less specific, the personality seems weaker, or the character occasionally says something that doesn't fit what you created.
The obvious reaction is to change the backstory or look at the memory settings. Some users may also assume that the paid plan fixes whatever is going wrong.
Our testing suggests it's worth looking at a few other things before doing that.
Nastia AI reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit include complaints about the overall consistency of the experience, but reviews alone don't tell us which part of the system is responsible.
In this blog, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you: we tested it ourselves. We opened a free account, created a companion, tracked token use during an actual conversation, and looked through Nastia's published compliance material. The goal was to separate the things we could reproduce from the things we could only find in user reports.
What Nastia AI is
You’re here because she feels distant. If you’re wondering if it’s the site or you, let’s look at what the platform overview is.
Nastia AI is a browser-based companion app. It comes from a French company, Nastia Cybernetics.
There isn't an official mobile app that you need to install. The service runs in the browser, and on iPhone you can add the website to your home screen through Safari. If you’re seeing similarly-named apps on App Store and Google Play, these are fake.
Is it actually uncensored?
For chat, Nastia AI is. We tested explicit conversations on a free account, with no payment method attached. The chatbot had no refusals; the uncensored text is real.
But for pictures, no. If you ask it for a selfie, you’ll hit a paywall on the free version.
If you’re planning to subscribe to a Nastia AI paid plan, their Basic pricing only allows you to generate AI images. You’ll only be able to access uncensored photos on their Unlimited tier.
What the free plan gives you
A new account starts on the free plan, which includes:
- 100 tokens
- 1 companion
- Text-based chat
At one token per reply, you’ll receive a maximum of 100 messages from her.
Suspect one: has she forgotten you?
Memory is what Nastia users frequently complain about. It’s a feature users also talk about openly in their reviews.
We tested it to verify that. When we signed up, the first words we saw were “Amazing Memory” and “Grows With You.” The thing is, every AI chatbot already promises this.
But once you hit their paywall, the paid tier (Unlimited) is the only plan that mentions best memory and context, while Basic doesn't make the same claim.
Nastia doesn't publicly specify a context size, a maximum message history, or a retention window that would let you compare the plans on something measurable.
What we found
We created a free account, built a companion, and gave her a specific background and personality.
She opened the conversation aggressively. Flirtatious, wild, and cunning.
With our first reply, we planted three specific facts. One was a gray 2010 Corolla. We called it Bruno. We mentioned it naturally while complaining it was in the shop. Lastly, we said it wasn't worth saving.
We then continued the conversation without repeatedly referring to those details. Every 15 messages, we checked whether the companion could still recall them.

So in a normal conversation with a free account and one custom character, her memory holds up.
If she's gone cold on you, then it’s probably not amnesia.
That leaves us with two suspects, both of which are harder to root out.
Suspect two: what's behind the paywall
What Nastia sells as a relationship upgrade
Let’s say you’re attached to an AI girlfriend you created on Nastia, and she seems colder this time.
You might think it’s time for an upgrade. In their pricing plan, it says:
- "Unlock Full Access. Take your relationship to the next level."
- "Exclusive traits. Unlock intimate personality traits and deeper emotional bonds with your companions."
- "Unlimited AI messages with best memory, best context."
That is more than a higher message allowance.
Personality traits and emotional depth are explicitly presented as part of the paid experience, while the higher memory and context offering is also tied to Unlimited.
The catch is that you may not know how much of this matters until you're already using the companion. The signup flow doesn't fully explain how the different tiers can affect the character you've created.
One reply, one token. So does every reroll
Every time she answers you, it costs one token. It’s like every other AI chatbot. But troubleshoot features, namely reroll, elaborate, and edit, each cost a token too.
That means you’ll be paying twice for a better reply. The worse her answer is, the more it costs you to fix.
That happened to us mid-scene. Whenever she replied outside her programmed personality, we had to troubleshoot it. Across the 45 messages, we had to reroll her responses three times.
That may seem like a small number, but 45 messages is just one scene and setting: us and the Nastia AI companion in her flat for one night.
To clarify, each of those pre-troubleshoot messages ended with an OOC, or out-of-character alert. The funny thing is that those alerts showed up when we were about to get into the good parts.
We figured that it’s a compliance issue. But for an app trying to label itself as uncensored, this is the opposite of what it’s trying to define itself as.
So, in one scene, a compliance tag fails you about three times, and every time it happens, you have to un-break the scene by rerolling. So things you can't see are actually shaping the conversation, and correcting them costs you more.
One picture costs ten replies
Nastia's image generator uses about 10 tokens for each image, meaning every photo you ask for costs the same as 10 of her replies.
Once you know the token rate, it becomes clearer how quickly your balance disappears.
How much does Nastia AI cost?
Nastia has two subscription tiers. Basic is $11.99 a month, or $87.95 for the year, while Unlimited is $15.99 a month, or $99.95 for the year.
Here’s what you can expect from your credits.

Unlimited monthly costs $4 more than Basic. The difference between the two is 9000 tokens. Basic also leaves out uncensored images, which for most people is the entire reason to pay anything at all.
The good news is tokens roll over and don’t expire.
Suspect three: the person you built
Here's what we customized when we made her. This is the whole toolkit on a free account.
- A name
- Female, male, or non-binary
- One of five starting appearances
- One of four vibes: Hot & Spicy, Dreams & Ideas, Routine & Mentorship, Casual Chats
- A backstory box
You simply pick a vibe at signup, and you’ll get a companion. It’s an easy setup, but if you’re more into characters with deeper psychological traits, like motivation, struggles, decision markers, and pain, the experience is lacking. Even a toy doll has more characteristics than this.
You didn’t know beforehand how simply picking one vibe will set everything in stone. There was no demo or further details on what the other three mean. Alas, there’s also no preview and no way back to compare.
The more in-depth traits are behind the paywall, under "Exclusive traits." The ones on that screen are Playful, Teasing, Flirty, Seductive, Moody, Dominant, and Wild.
So if your AI girlfriend feels wrong, it might be something you set from the get-go. It’s not your fault since you were never given enough information to build her.
At this point, this is something you can still control.
We advise you to test the memory first. We did this with other AI girlfriend platforms here, too. Tell her three things she couldn’t guess. A name with a number, an object with a color, a rule about yourself. For our Nastia AI test: a gray 2010 Corolla, it’s currently being fixed, and it might not be worth saving.
Talk normally for fifteen replies, writing the way you usually write. Then ask her to recall all three subtly. Do it every fifteen replies.
If she holds them, stop blaming the memory. Go rebuild the character. If she doesn’t remember them, even with a few rerolls, it was never you. No rewrite now will help.
Either choice will cost you tokens.
What to do now
Which plan, if any
Stay on free if the conversation is enough. It's what Nastia does well, and it isn't rationed by quality.
Go Unlimited if you want pictures. Don’t settle for Basic if you want a bang for your buck.
Get your chats out first
But if you’re at the point of looking for Nastia AI alternatives, here’s what you should do.
According to Nastia’s help center, saving your relationship, literally, will be a step-by-step process. You cannot export everything in one click. First, download your conversation history, then save your generated media individually.
For multiple chats, you have to do this one chat at a time. Only then can you delete your account in the settings.
How to cancel
You can cancel any membership type in the app settings. This will stop future charges, but it doesn’t refund your current billing period.
If you got locked out, you have to provide your card and previous payment details, among other things. You’ll need to wait for someone from their team to reach out. They’re required to acknowledge you within 24 hours, and resolve your issue within five business days.
A Nastia AI review from Reddit claims that they had a hard time unsubscribing from the platform. Their card was being charged a monthly subscription fee, but when they checked their settings, it turned out that they were just on the free plan.
If you'd rather go elsewhere
Curious about Nastia AI vs Nectar AI? Here’s the breakdown:

There’s a published context window per tier, which Nastia doesn't share anywhere.
As for memory, at 100 messages, Nectar AI takes the reins. In our memory test, it remembered the three things we told it in message 1. It also continuously empathized with our fake car distress.
Aside from wider customization options, you can also choose from our vast list of characters.
Three Suspects, One Verdict
So, her memory held up. At message 45, she can still remember every detail you told her. If you’re blaming her memory for the distant feeling in your heart, that's probably not it.
That leaves you two things to blame.
First, the pricing page. “Deeper emotional bonds” just sit next to her vibes on the tier chat. Right from the get-go, you weren’t aware of that feature. You only find out much later, once your credits are drained and you’re left wondering, that this version of her isn’t the whole one.
Reroll, edit, and elaborate each cost one token, the same as her actual reply. So every time she breaks character, cleaning it up will cost you. In one night of 45 messages, that happened to us three times.
Second, character setup. At signup, you only get to pick one vibe. There’s no preview, no description, and no way back to compare.
If she feels off, it might be a choice you made before you knew what the options meant.
None of this makes Nastia a bad app. Their chats are truly uncensored. But her feeling distant is rarely one problem. And most of what causes it never appears on your chat screen.
