Secrets AI Review 2026: Great Conversations, Until They Break

    Last updated August 19, 2026

    The Short Version

    • What this is. A closer look at Secrets AI, what it costs once you start using it, and the problem that seems to come up the most.
    • Why trust us. We build Nectar AI, an AI girlfriend platform, so we already know how these sites are put together, where the real costs usually show up, and which features matter.
    • Why it matters. The platform you choose can decide whether the conversation continues naturally on its own, or whether you eventually have to start managing it.
    • What to do. Start with the free tier. Do not commit to the annual plan until you have used it for at least a month. And if voice calls are important to you, check the Moments math first.

Secrets AI Works Until It Doesn’t

You’re typing nonstop, one reply after another. You’re at the edge of your seat, the conversation so seamless and realistic. This is the best part of your day.

Then, all of a sudden, she just blurts a nonsensical reply in four words.

Or, you get a 10-line reply, except nine of those lines are about her tilting her head, biting her lip, shifting closer on the couch, or thinking about what she wants to say.

Suddenly, whatever you had built up over the last hour is gone.

Secrets AI does give you ways to fix this.

You can rewind the conversation using Time Travel, taking the chat back to before it started breaking. Or you can type an out-of-character (OOC) command telling the AI exactly how you want her to respond.

It’s great that they offer fixes like these, but that’s not the problem.

The problem is what they ask from you.

You came here to practice talking to someone without the heavy stakes. Now you’re troubleshooting her instead. You’re typing instructions in parentheses, rewinding parts of the chat, and thinking about how to get the AI back to normal.

Whatever you’re feeling two minutes ago probably isn’t coming back this session.

Secrets AI is not bad. Its strongest feature is memory, and its conversation quality is decent. But it breaks more often than most people will tell you.

Why We Know What to Look For

We build Nectar AI, another AI companion platform, so we know what to look for.

Running one of these platforms means we already know where costs usually hide. We know what a context window does to memory and which features are expensive enough to run that they almost always end up being metered somehow.

So when Secrets AI says something like “4x memory access,” we question what that means.

In this article, we dive deeper into what happens after you subscribe to the platform, the features you get, and the issues you may experience.

    What Is Secrets AI?

Secrets AI is an AI companion platform. You choose a character from its existing library or build one yourself, then start talking.

Any character can remember things you told her before. Just like a real online friend, it can send generated photos, create short videos, and join you on voice calls.

The platform is run by Secret Labs Inc., based in Dover, Delaware. You can sign up using email, Google, or Apple.

Most of the platform runs on two things.

The first is memory, or how much your character remembers. This depends on the plan you are paying for.

The second is Moments, which is Secrets AI’s in-app currency. It powers the platform’s premium features.

    What You Actually Get

Once you decide to pick a plan and jump in, here is a look at the specific features and tools you’ll have at your disposal.

    • Unlimited text chat on both paid plans. The free tier gives you 20 messages per day, and the limit is tied to your device.
    • Memory that carries across sessions. On Premium, your character recalls roughly 67% of your previous conversations. On Ultimate, that amount doubles.
    • Image generation. You can create 1.5K or 2K images, use reference photos, and edit generated images.
    • Video generation. This includes adult video.
    • Voice calls. These are billed by the minute.
    • Group chats. You can chat with two or three companions at once, but only on the top tier.
    • Custom characters. You can design your own instead of choosing from the existing library.
    • Adult content. Secrets AI openly supports it, and a lot of its media pricing is built around it.

Moreover, message length is capped depending on your tier. You get 500 characters on the free plan, 1,000 on Premium, and 2,000 on Ultimate. This matters if you like writing longer, more detailed messages.

What Secrets AI Costs to Actually Use

Here’s a breakdown of Secret AI’s pricing. Paying monthly costs more than double the yearly rate.

If you’re a beginner and want to subscribe, try the monthly plan first.

Aside from a subscription, you can also top up your Moments.

The Premium subscription gives you 8,000 Moments per month. That’s a total of 160 minutes of voice calls, or five minutes of calls per day every day. If you like to speak with your chosen companion, keep this in mind. The same balance can also get you around 13 adult videos or 80 high-quality images.

If you’re on the free tier, you cannot buy Moments at all. And if you choose to subscribe to Premium or Ultimate, your monthly Moments don’t roll over. They reset on your renewal date, which means a month where you barely use the app can still wipe out everything you already paid for.

What Users Say After a Few Months

These are a few things Secrets AI users say, and we genuinely seem to like:

    • The memory. This comes up more than anything else. Reviewers regularly say it remembers conversations better than other platforms they have tried.
    • Image realism. People describe the images as staying fairly consistent with whatever scene or conversation they are in.
    • The fact that she pushes back. One reviewer specifically said their Secrets’ companions are not a yes-bot. If you have used AI companion apps where the character agrees with absolutely everything you say, Secrets AI seems better at avoiding that.

The complaints are pretty consistent too. Complaints then shift toward lag and stalling, where conversations slow down badly, and group chats freeze partway through a response.

    • Moments getting spent on generations that came back wrong.
    • Moments not rolling over. We even found a user’s long criticism calling the platform’s policy anti-customer.
    • Chat quality collapsing, which we’ll be diving deeper into later.
    • Support being inconsistent. Some users say they got thoughtful help, while others say their tickets were closed without the issue being properly resolved.
    • Voice calls not feeling worth the cost. Once you look at the numbers above, that complaint makes sense.

If you’re wondering about refunds, Secrets AI confirmed in a July 2026 response that failed generations using the Premium image model can be refunded if you report them. However, those using the newer Advanced model cannot. So, strangely enough, the better model is also the one you cannot get refunded on if the generation goes wrong.

    When the Chat Breaks Down

This is the part most other Secrets AI reviews do not really explain. And depending on why you are using an AI companion in the first place, it might be the most important part. Two things seem to happen.

Sometimes the replies suddenly shrink. You get a few words back, but there is barely anything there to continue the conversation.

Other times, the exact opposite happens. The response gets longer and longer, but most of it is gestures, internal thoughts, facial expressions, and narration. There is barely any actual conversation left.

One reviewer describes the platform starting out well, paying for the full year, then noticing the quality drop almost immediately afterward.

Again, Secrets AI does have fixes for this.

Time Travel lets you rewind the conversation to before it broke. Everything after that point gets cleared from the character’s context.

OOC commands let you steer her tone and behavior while you are talking.

Secrets AI support recommends both of these fairly often. And we can confirm that these fixes work. But look at what you are doing when you use them. You’re not talking to your companion anymore. You’re debugging her.

For anyone here to get more comfortable being open with someone, that's the moment it stops working, and no amount of good memory fixes it.

So if you go with Secrets AI, learn Time Travel early. You'll need it.

    Is Secrets AI Safe?

The platform’s billing is genuinely discreet. Charges show up as S LABS INC, with nothing on the statement that clearly identifies the service. That may be a problem if you share your finances with someone. Secrets AI also accepts crypto, with a $20 minimum.

You might read claims that Secrets AI allows fully anonymous signup with no email. We’re here to tell you that it’s not true at all. You need to sign up using email, Google, or Apple.

On the technical side, StartupHub’s independent assessment gave Secrets AI a 90 out of 100 security score and a 55 out of 100 privacy score. The assessment points out that its privacy policy doesn’t clearly explain some GDPR and CCPA rights.

So the connection itself seems to be well protected. What happens to your data after that is less clearly explained.

    Where Nectar AI Works Differently

For those looking for a Secrets AI alternative, Nectar AI is worth looking into.

    What is Nectar AI?

Nectar AI is also an AI companion platform built around long conversations and memory that holds up. If you’re looking for an AI girlfriend, you can choose a character based on our vast library, or you can freely customize her.

The basic idea is similar to Secrets AI.

The main difference is what you pay for and how memory is handled.

    What You Get

    • Unlimited messaging on both Ultimate tiers
    • 64K context memory on Ultimate, which is the number that determines how much conversation history she is actually working from
    • More than 350 customization options
    • Video generation and video messages
    • Voice messages and voice chat
    • Custom personas
    • Long-term memory

That 64K context window is the actual number that tells you how much conversation history the model can work with at once.

    What Nectar AI Costs

In Nectar, Flex costs less but meters your generations through credits, while Classic costs more and gives you unlimited HD generations.

We also offer Premium at $4.99 per month on the yearly plan and Pro at $9.99 per month yearly if you want something smaller.

There is also a free tier where you can chat with any character you like.

With any type of subscription, your unused credits roll over. At Nectar AI, we understand the annoyance of wasting your credits. That’s why we made this our biggest difference from Secrets AI.

    What Our Users Tell Us

Among all of the platforms we tested, Nectar AI takes memory to another level. With a larger context window than other AI companion platforms, our characters are able to remember previous conversations, which helps with a more realistic virtual girlfriend experience.

Our users also say that their credits go faster than expected, especially for those who generate a lot of images. To balance this out, unused credits roll over to the next billing cycle. So if you barely use Nectar during a quiet month, those credits do not disappear just because your renewal date arrived. If you generate heavily, though, you should still budget for it here too.

    How We Handle Your Data

Nectar AI treats privacy and safety as one of our core features. Conversations with your chosen character are not sold or shared. You can see the full details in our privacy policy.

Secrets AI vs Nectar AI, Side by Side

With their recent update, Secrets AI documents their memory as vague numbers. Four times what? Sixty percent more than which baseline? We tried to pry more from their website, but we cannot really tell.

At Nectar AI, we publish the actual context window because it’s the number that tells you how much conversation history the model can actually work with.

So, Should You Try Secrets AI?

If what you want is unlimited conversation with someone who remembers you, and you do not mind rewinding a chat when it starts drifting, Secrets AI at $9.17 per month is a fair deal. The conversations can be really good, but what do you do when they stop being one?

You should skip the platform if voice is one of your biggest reasons for subscribing, because 160 minutes disappears faster than it sounds. Moreover, Moments balance runs out more quickly than you expect.

And skip it if typing commands at someone just to make the conversation feel natural again sounds like the complete opposite of why you came here. Because that is really the thing that decides whether Secrets AI works for you.

The conversations are good. Until you have to stop having one and start fixing it.

If that last part is what puts you off, try Nectar for free first and see how the conversation holds up before spending anything.

Questions People Ask About Secrets AI

Is Secrets AI worth paying for?

It depends on what you’re looking for in a platform. If you mostly want text chat, with its conversation quality, then it’s worth paying for. The Premium tier at $9.17 per month on the yearly plan gives you unlimited messaging and good memory.

If you’re into voice calls or generated media, however, Moments can disappear pretty quickly. And once you start buying more, the real monthly cost becomes harder to predict.

How much does Secrets AI cost per month?

The Premium tier costs $19.99 monthly or the equivalent of $9.17 per month on the yearly plan, billed at $109.99. Ultimate costs $39.99 monthly or $26.67 per month yearly, billed at $319.99. But that’s only the subscription price. Moments are priced separately.

    Is Secrets AI chat private?

Claims that Secrets AI’s service is fully anonymous are not accurate. However, billing is discreet and appears as S LABS INC, and crypto payments are accepted.

Is Nectar AI better than Secrets AI?

Nectar AI is better than Secrets AI in terms of price and credit rollover. For comparison, Nectar’s cheapest paid plan is $3.99 per month on the yearly plan compared with Secrets AI’s $9.17. Unused Nectar credits also roll over instead of resetting, which Secrets AI doesn’t offer.
